Sapta Sagaradaache Ello - Side A&B (Kannada)
Manu and Priya are lovers. The story of the first part is about how the action taken by Manu, who wishes to change their lower-middle-class standard of living to one suitable for Priya, turns their lives upside down.
Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth have truly lived their characters. There weren't many explicit romantic scenes between them, yet they score with their eyes alone.
All the characters in the story have been perfectly cast. Since we are not familiar with Kannada actors, we are able to watch the film without any judgment about them.
The film, which started in a conventional manner, makes us realize how deeply it has pulled us in by the time it ends.
The film revolves around Rukmini Vasanth, and her acting reminds one of Sonia Agarwal in 7G Rainbow Colony.
Side B
The second part starts from where the first part ended, with several major twists.
Rakshit Shetty changes to the point of being unrecognizable in this part. Frankly speaking, his hairstyle in the first part seemed a bit fake.
As he begins a new chapter in his life, Surabhi, a sex worker, enters and tries to take the place of his lover. Did that happen?! What happened to Rukmini?! What happened to the dream they shared?! The director Hemanth Rao has answered these questions with a very interesting screenplay. Unexpected twists kept coming in the very slowly moving story. Does showing the hero's face through a train compartment, a window, or a vent opening suggest his confined state of mind?!
Even though there are various logical loopholes, something makes us enjoy this film. The songs and background music are sweet.
I believe the director is conveying the message that the circumstances are the reason why a person turns good or bad, and also the reason for the important decisions he makes.
Since I cannot criticize further without revealing the film's plot, I conclude my review here.
If you haven't watched the film yet, watch it on Amazon Prime without Googling it. Comment if you liked it 😀
This is not a children's movie (or for some adults too) due to the excessive violence.
P.S.: I have watched various films starring Rukmini Vasanth before, and only now do I realize that she is quite typecast 😔
